Valentine’s Day is one of the few days of the year when it’s okay to eat as much chocolate as you want (yesssss)!  So, chocolate brownies combined with a dab of frosting combined with a seasonal heart shape is the perfect treat.  It’s a Valentine’s Brownie Sandwich.  As an extra perk, this treat is easy peasy to make and inexpensive to boot!

I heart Chocolate!

Start with a basic 13 x 9 pan of brownies.  You may use a boxed mix or make them homemade from scratch – it really doesn’t matter.

Start with brownies

Using heart shaped cookie cutters, cut heart shaped brownies from the pan.  Make sure you cut an even number because you will need 2 for each sandwich.  I used two different sizes of cookie cutters for different sized sandwiches.

Cut the hearts

Place the brownie shapes on a solid surface once they are cut.  I used a piece of parchment paper as a work space.

The shapes

Frost a bead of red or pink frosting around the edge of one of the brownies.  Then put a small dab of frosting in the center of the heart.  Again, you can make or buy your frosting.  Another idea is to use strawberry ice cream instead of frosting (did someone say delicious)?

Frost the edges

Put one unfrosted brownie shape on top of the frosted brownie shape to finish the sandwich.  Repeat until all your shapes become sandwich treats.

The finished product

Now eat it…I mean share with friends and loved ones for Valentine’s treats!

Delicious!

Happy Valentine’s Day!
